Browns Plains
Logan Granny Flats Case Study
Another success story for Logan Granny Flats, your Granny Flat Experts and the largest supplier and builder of Granny Flats in SE Queensland. Image: rpdata.com.au
OVERVIEW :
Project Work in Progress
DETAILS :
Teenage grand children now growing up, one bathroom between several teenagers, not enough space when grandma wants to come and stay… All good reasons to build in the spare backyard! There is certainly the space – why not utilise it? And thinking of the coming years for grandma – it seems to be a natural progression. An independent unit - this still allows for grandma to have her own independence, but be close to the family. There is plenty of existing covered car accommodation so no need to build a new carport for the granny flat. We drew up an initial set of sketches and worked closely with the family until a suitable design was settled on. As the property has undulating slope (and away from the road), it was natural that we build on stumps. We will be including a few small things such as the stacker doors to the timber deck space will be recessed so that it’s a smooth transition from the inside to the outside areas. Another example is the bathroom area: no hob to have step over in the shower, creating another seemless transition. All things to think about for the mature age… Approvals in place early August 2016, we are about to commence the setout on site – SO WATCH THIS SPACE!! Check out some of the photos of the building work in progress… SUMMARY :
Looking at the number of Granny Flats that we have built over the last few years we have found that on average, 1 in 4 Granny Flats are for similar family circumstances – a surprise to us all. This is a good example of what can be achieved when families want to stay together! WATCH THIS SPACE… A Great Success for the Investors
