91-93 Culgoa Cres, Logan Village
OVERVIEW:
|
DETAILS:
Mum, now retired from nursing looking forward to having her own independent living space but still close enough to the family to have her own independence.
This was a large rural residential block with the existing house set about half way down the block.
After taking the clients through a recently completed granny flat in the Ipswich area, it was decided that this size would be quite adequate. A plan was drawn up for a 50m2, one bedroom granny flat 5.5m from the existing house. It was built on steel adjustable stumps with a minimum height off the ground to require only 3 steps. We then custom built a floating deck/walkway to the existing deck at the back of house – great solution for both parties.
As the zoning was rural residential it also required independent water tanks to the granny flat. A complete upgrade to the existing power was also required, something that needs to be taken into consideration in all instances but particularly in rural areas.
We were at lockup within a few weeks with the final completion certificate issued in October – plenty of time for the client to move in before the xmas / new year period.
SUMMARY:
After having lived in a large onsite van for a period of time, the client now has her own independent living accommodation ie Granny Flat and it looks a treat !
One very happy Mum …
